Pictures From Our School Year

Hi Italy!

Here are a few pictures that we took of special events throughout the year. These are some of our favorite memories from our first grade year. We look forward to making many more memories after summer break as we become second graders!

We made classroom shirts that we wore on Fridays to celebrate our teamwork.

We spent one afternoon in our pajamas reading our favorite books!

For Thanksgiving in November we had a large feast with turkey, fruit, vegetables, and many other snacks. We made hats with Thanksgiving pictures on them.

We love playing outside during morning recess.

We use computers in our classroom to type stories, play games, and practice writing.

We made hats to celebrate our 100th day of school!

For our community unit, students built a 3D community that included buildings they would find in our city. We built schools, libraries, roads, police stations, houses, and many other things we found in our neighborhoods and communities.

Hello from Michigan!

Hi Andrea and fellow students,

Our last day of school is just two days away! Our class will finish our first grade year on Tuesday, June 5th. Summer vacation will last until September, when we wil return to school as second graders with brand new teachers. Miss Jacobs will have a new class of first grade students.

Thank you for cooperating with us this year. I would love to keep in touch over the summer and continue our learning and cooperation next year with a brand new classroom of students. We loved it this year, and I would love to continue our friendship next year.

I was able to view these pictures at school today.

Your kids are such great artists!

I'm hoping to print off the pictures and hang them on a wall next to a world poster so my kids will be able to see their new pen pals when they arrive the first day.

because the pictures you send me make my day!

I can't wait to share them with the kids.

I looked at your school's website, and also put it into my computer so I can visit it often throughout the year, and show my students once they arrive.

I'm hoping to set up an individual web site for our classrooms in the next few weeks as well.

Where we live (Port Huron, Michigan) we can look across the Blue Water Bridge and see Canada.
Our city is on the Pine and St. Clair rivers that run into Lake Huron.
The lake and rivers seperate Canada from the United States, so we are right on the border.

I'll have my kids write and draw more information to send to you as soon as they arrive.

Thank you so much for the pictures!

Here in Port Huron, Michigan, it is around 70 degrees and sunny most of the time.
It will start to get colder in the next month or so as fall sets in.

I will be sure to send student pictures once they arrive in school, but will send a few pictures of our city, including Lake Huron which is right near our school...
I am so happy to be able to share this project with you!
